Heritage Systems, Inc. (HSI) is a second-generation, family-owned business, establishing our company office in Napa when we incorporated in 1998. We predominantly serve the wine, food, and beverage industries, specializing in water, wastewater, and process water optimization, operations, and treatment.

We are structured into three (3) main departments: Operations/ Project Installations, Technical Service, and Product Delivery. Currently, we have eleven full-time employees who hold various licenses and certifications required for their respective roles.

We pride ourselves in cultivating a small-business ethos in which our employees feel valued, respected, and at home in the workplace. The dress attire is casual, and although we are serious about our business, we have fun in the work environment while working as a team.

We are forward-thinking in our innovation and adoption of various technologies to streamline our business and product offerings to clients. We balance this by also prioritizing a direct approach to relationship-building with our clients, vendors, and suppliers. General Summary

At the direction of our Technical Services Management Team, the Technical Service Representative provides water, wastewater and process water compliance services and operations to our clientele. The scope of this work includes but is not limited to water quality sampling, sensor and equipment calibration, chemical pump maintenance, small package deliveries and new
system installation and support.

Heritage Systems, Inc. is a family-owned business incorporated in Napa, CA in 1998. Currently our service footprint is mainly in Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties. Your base duties and responsibilities are outlined below, but we recommend you familiarize yourself with all aspects of our company operations and build your skill-set to provide depth and expertise in our other departments. Our goal for this entry-level position is to gain competency and expertise in our field and grow within our company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position will be assigned a territory with 30-50 customers and will conduct service on wastewater, potable water and process water systems. Our clients are currently located in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and Yolo counties.
  • Responsible for cleaning and calibrating instruments and electronic equipment/sensors located at customer locations and collecting water and wastewater quality data as well as verifying equipment performance and functionality.
  • Collect all compliance samples associated with assigned clients at intervals prescribed by client, HSI Management, and compliance requirements. 
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of chemical pumps, hoses, piping, low voltage wiring, and other equipment located in the field and at the corporate offices.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in your assigned field service vehicle and in inventory at the corporate office. 
  • Service customer process water-closed loop and cooling water and wastewater treatment applications. 
  • Ensure that pumps and controllers are programmed and communicating properly, and that reliable HSI installations and systems are functioning as intended and designed.
  • Generate field service reports after each site visit and issue to client contact list.
  • Provides routine and pre-emptive maintenance services on our systems.
  • Conduct sampling at the direction of the Technical Services Management and Chain of Custody forms.
  • Responsible for installation and construction of infrastructure, at the direction of the Operations Manager to support company’s products and services. These skills include trenching, power-tool use, PVC pipe and conduit installations, control equipment installation, and general construction tasks.
  •  Log data into the log sheets/spreadsheet on a weekly basis.
  • Update and maintain client-service tracking forms. Add new items, delete non-applicable items, and work with HSI compliance reporting team.
  • Check lab results and Data Graphs frequently to catch discrepancies and errors and get an idea for trends and system performance.
  • Constantly build and maintain client relationships and call and contact frequency.
  • Obtain and Maintain minimum Grade 1 State Potable Water license certifications in both Treatment and Distribution.

Qualifications

  • Clean driving record, as this role will have a company vehicle and spend 70% to 90% of your time in the field at our client locations
  • Basic computer skills: email, typing, and data entry into company laptop
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without issue
  • Self-starter/ self-sufficiency skills
  • Take direction well and collaborate closely with customers, teammates, and coworkers

General Summary

At the Direction of the General Manager/President, the Director of Technical Services & Engineering implements and directs all service activities, technical service representatives, new projects, and related functions for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Directly Manage all Technical Service Personnel and Compliance Reporting
    Specialist
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures adherence to company and departmental processes and procedures.
  •  Responsible for staffing all service accounts and training operators and technicians on the requirements of each account.
  • Directs the design, development, and implementation of all PondSentry panel builds and installations.
  • Delegate installation and special project efforts with input from Operations Manager. Oversee implementations of new systems and communicate with clients.
  • Hold valid and current WW and PW operator certifications through the State of California.
  • Maintain proficiency and expertise in all instrumentation, sensing equipment, control panel, and analyzers relevant to our industry, especially those currently in use within our service offerings.
  • Manage, oversee, and facilitate all WW and PW reporting and compliance at required intervals.
  • Proactively address regulatory non-compliance within customer base with solutions form inside or outside of our company offerings.
  • Communicate directly with customers and promote communications and involvement of TSRs with all customers in their territories.
  • Verify services and installations are properly invoiced and manage cash flow on projects.
  • Responsible for management, design and collaboration with input from our network of vendors and suppliers as it pertains to our client base and special projects.
  • Ensure all Heritage Systems sampling and client compliance reporting is completed correctly and on time.
  • This position is a driving force in business development and generating sales for the company. When Heritage Systems achieves our growth goals, this position plays a big part in its success.

Qualifications

Technical, mechanical, mathematical, and troubleshooting skills are essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team and manage inclusively and effectively are vital in this position. You must hold a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution.

Work Environment

This position has an office space at our main office and is expected to split time between the office and the field. As a manager, and a leader of employees, it is important to lead by example and show your direct reports the commitment required for processional growth and success at Heritage Systems.
